Tour Description

• Discover La Palma’s new volcano, called Tajogaite, and its consequences. The earth opened on September 19th, 2021, creating the youngest territory on the continent. Its consequences showed two sides of the same coin.
• The harsh side: the destruction of homes, workplaces, and leisure areas for many families from La Palma, who were left only with memories of the years lived in those places. The beautiful side: witnessing what Mother Nature, the true owner of this planet, was capable of creating in just a few months, resulting in a breathtaking landscape.
• The route begins by passing the first historical volcano, Tacande Volcano—also known locally as Montaña Quemada. We will walk through former agricultural areas, and along the short 5 km route toward the volcano we will reach one of the viewpoints.
• After finishing the hike, we will head to the Llanos del Jable Astronomical Viewpoint to watch the sunset, accompanied by a small tasting of Canarian products and wine.
• Afterwards, we will return to the meeting point.

• Bring a jacket, preferably windproof, as temperatures drop significantly at sunset in this area and it is often windy.
• Water (minimum 1 liter).
• Never leave the marked trails.
