Tazacorte
Tazacorte
Located on the coast of the Aridane Valley, at the mouth of the Barranco de Las Angustias, lies the Town and Port of Tazacorte, the smallest municipality on the island of La Palma.
It is home to the island’s most important fishing harbour. In addition to its fishing facilities, the port also features a large marina and an extensive beach of fine black sand.
Tazacorte is an important agricultural area and one of the finest banana-growing regions in the Canary Islands. This is undoubtedly linked to its exceptionally mild and tropical climate: the municipality enjoys one of the highest numbers of sunshine hours per year in Europe, with average temperatures remaining between 20°C and 30°C for most of the year.
