Puntallana
Puntallana
The former Benahoarite canton of Tenagua is located between the municipalities of Santa Cruz de La Palma and San Andrés y Sauces. It covers an area of 35.09 square kilometres, lies at an altitude of 420 metres above sea level, and boasts a coastline stretching 12.95 kilometres. Its deep ravines create landscapes of remarkable natural beauty and lush vegetation.
Puntallana is renowned for its agricultural tradition. The cultivation of cereals, particularly wheat, has long ensured the production of bread and gofio, one of the Canary Islands’ most traditional foods.
Its most important localities are Tenagua, Santa Lucía, El Pueblo, El Granel, and La Galga.
