From here we can observe the capital of La Palma from above its impressive crater, the largest on the whole island. Breña Alta offers sea and mountains. From the Playa de Bajamar, next to the port, up to the Cumbre, where we find recreational areas as pleasant for camping or barbecues as Pared Vieja.

Within its surface of 31 square kilometers, the population is spread across the neighborhoods of Botazo, Buenavista, Las Ledas, El Llanito, Miranda and Breña. The capital of the municipality is San Pedro. The festivities of its patron saint, San Pedro Apóstol, are celebrated on June 29. The Fiestas de la Santa Cruz in the two Breñas and part of Mazo are also famous, where many neighborhood crosses are beautifully decorated by their residents in a lively celebration full of tradition, affection and local pride.

In its lands, different crops were grown, with tobacco being especially famous, used by many local craftsmen to make the well-known “puros palmeros”. For this reason, the municipality has a cigar museum where visitors can make their own cigars. Within the artisan tradition, the making of utensils such as “serecas”, balayos, hats, baskets, etc., is also noteworthy.

Natural heritage outdoors:

Ruta de Las Fuentes

Mirador de La Concepción

Mirador del Rincón

Heritage interpretation centers:

Museo del Puro Palmero

Restaurants with traditional Canarian cuisine:

El Mesón

Restaurante La Graja

Bodegón Los Álamos

Other recommended restaurants:

Restaurante El Halcón

Restaurante Casa Osmunda

Local product:

Agromercado de Breña Alta

["post-3289","location","type-location","status-publish","hentry
["GET
