Bre\u00f1a Alta<\/strong><\/p>\n

The best views of Santa Cruz are not found within the capital itself, but from the heights of the La Concepci\u00f3n Viewpoint in Bre\u00f1a Alta. From here, visitors can admire the island\u2019s capital from above, overlooking its impressive crater, the largest on the entire island.<\/p>\n

Bre\u00f1a Alta offers both sea and mountains. From Bajamar Beach, located next to the harbour, to the island\u2019s summit area, where pleasant recreational spaces such as Pared Vieja provide ideal settings for camping and barbecues.<\/p>\n

Covering an area of 31 square kilometres, the municipality\u2019s population is spread across the districts of Botazo, Buenavista, Las Ledas, El Llanito, Miranda, and Bre\u00f1a. The municipal capital is San Pedro. The festivities in honour of its patron saint, Saint Peter the Apostle, are celebrated on 29 June.<\/p>\n

The Holy Cross Festivities, celebrated in the two Bre\u00f1as and part of Mazo, are also renowned. During these celebrations, the many crosses throughout the neighbourhoods are beautifully decorated by local residents in a lively festival filled with tradition, affection, and deep-rooted community spirit.<\/p>\n

Historically, a variety of crops were cultivated here, with tobacco being especially important. Many local artisans used it to produce the famous \u201cPalmero cigars.\u201d For this reason, the municipality is home to a unique Cigar Museum, where visitors can even learn how to make their own cigars.<\/p>\n

Traditional craftsmanship also remains important, particularly the making of handcrafted items such as serecas<\/em>, balayos<\/em>, hats, baskets, and other woven goods.<\/p>\n
